Applications:

Diaphragm seals are used in applications where medias may corrode or clog pressure instruments by themselves. A diaphragm seal is mounted to the pressure instrument to create a corrosive resistant barrier between the instrument and media allowing for accurate readings and longevity. The same idea applies for thick media applications where, without a diaphragm seal, the media would clog the orifice of the pressure instrument leaving it unusable.
